In a final stand of old growth timber, a stranger is found shivering in a patch of new snow on a hot summer day. The world has changed from the one he knew; society has stumbled and the rural areas have lost their connection to the rest of the country. Over the last sixty years, a culture has grown amidst the myths of the world before, developing its own beliefs around the ever present cycles of nature. Those who live within the shadows of the ancient trees have never seen a television or an electric light, they have never watched a plane climb into the sky or listened to voices echoing from a radio. The nightmare Alexander escaped from, that left him shivering with fear in a blanket of summer snow, is not ready to let him go. The echoes of another world slip into the mortal realm in the jealousy of an immortal lover who seeks to possess the one man who has ever told her, “No.” He has always held out for the love he once knew, the woman whose memory gave him strength through the years spent in the realm of the fae, never submitting to the immortal Nakayla’s icy embrace. And now he has escaped to find Megan, the woman he loves, living in another lifetime, surrounded by a world he doesn’t know. Within the pages of Remembering Tomorrow we discover that the myths of our past are intimately tied to the environment of the present. We find that hatred and rage are powers that can rival those of love and sacrifice. As the story builds to a tension-filled climax, lives are lost, the bonds of magic are severed, and we discover that sometimes losing the battle is the only way to win the war.

Even with the myriad assortment of plots that wove their way through this book, I did enjoy it. It was confusing to follow at times and sometimes there was just too much detail involved for the story being told at the time. I felt some story lines were not investigated as well as they should have and in reflection feel this book would have been much better served as a series. There were just way too many story lines that needed further development to make this story truly make sense. There were many details that didn't make sense in the depiction they were told such as Kyle the mortal seeming to have lived for much longer than was mortally possible yet the possibility of the other realms having a factor on this were not involved.

Remembering Tomorrow Jeffrey Pierce 9781466467248 Books Reviews
Really REALLY liked this book! Was not what i thought it was going to be and really liked the whole story although some things did leave me still asking questions... hope there is a second one to answer those questions...i could not put this book down!!!
This book was so enchanting I couldn't stop reading it. Thank you for writing this. I hope other readers enjoy this as much as I have.
Despite being a fantasy fiction, there was enough social commentary involved to get the reader thinking about the real world. To some this might be terrible, for others incredible. However, Mr. Pierce's style of writing is like gravity. It grabs you and holds you to the pages with full force! It took me longer to read this than his previous two novels, but it was just as good. Also, Tymurran makes an appearance and has more of a role than he did in Escaping Destiny. Awesome character, and a cool tie-in to the Tapestry series.
This book had some potential, there was a basic story that could have been really entertaining. Unfortunately, the writer would get side tracked with "Save the Earth" tangents. On one level, they could fit into the story, but he would just take it so far he seemed to loose track of what he was talking about. The basic idea of the book was that there are several dimensions and ours had been destroyed at one point because humans had over used earth's resourced, as stated several times, humans are greedy and take more than what they need. When this happened, a young boy (Kyle) and his family moved into the woods and started a settlement and replanted trees and built a small community built on respecting the earth and protecting the environment. Years later when Kyle was an old man, he finds a handsome, naked, terrified man in a part of the woods. This man (Alex) joins the community and you discover he has returned to our world after spending 100 yrs in another world. He came back for his love (Megan) who he had left 100 yrs ago when the queen of this other world (NaKayla) kidnapped him. Megan is now a major leader in this woodland community and hates Alex for about 5 pages until she is drawn to love him. Alex decides to go back to fight NaKayla and her dog beasts (she turns men into crazy beasts that kill and destroy everything) and Megan follows him. On her quest to find Alex in this new world (a man she hated a few pages earlier) she meets a variety of interesting characters and creatures. Somehow, every female character she meets has at one point been in love with Alex in one of his lives or another but recognize her as Alex's true love that he finds in every one of these lives. That is confusing since there is no actual character development to make him that loveable, not that he is unlikable, just kind of -- flat as a character (but then they all kind of are.) Since all these female characters love Alex so much, they help Megan with her quest. The world is being destroyed since it is closely connected to our world and Man is destroying earth so time is running out before the worlds must be disconnected forever. Meanwhile, Kyle is fighting with the army who is getting ready to plow down the woods on the mountain side for no other reason than man is greedy and won't stop until they have wasted every resource. The army is willing to relocate the settlement to work camps or kill them, they don't care. That part of the story has a very strong resemblance to the way Native American Indians were treated, probably on purpose though. As it turns out, the earth owes Kyle a favor because he rebuilt the forest, so that comes into play. It seemed like the story could have been really good if the writer would have focused on the story and let it deliver his message other than cramming it down your throat. He would get so caught up things would stop making sense. Ex "Alex continued kneeling..." Wait, when was he kneeling? Look through the pages and he was definitely standing. That kind of thing happened all the time, instead of writing about what was happening in the story, the writer would go on for a page or two about how man kind is ruining the earth. I kept reading the book because it showed so much promise. If the author had stayed focused and old the story it would have been great. Instead it was just a little confusing and under developed.
This was a pretty good book all in all. Sure there was a little "tree hugger" message scattered here and there, but I'm not saying that as a bad thing. The story seemed to end in the middle of the action, not sure if that was meant in order to have a sequel. The characters were for the most part believable and well thought out and the story was written were at times it felt like you were there. Anyway, good book, I highly recommend it.
"Remembering Tomorrow" starts and ends in completely unexpected ways, folding in werewolves, evil sudo- goddesses, and military bureaucracies. The central plot holding all the seemingly unrelated parts together is a bit sketchy at times, with a few unexplained endings, but enough twists and movement to keep the reader hooked. Great characters, with more depth than could be worked into the plot, take you from world to world mostly reliant on their own ingenuity.
This is Jeffrey Pierce's third book and he keeps getting better and better. I wish I had more stars to give this fantastic book. He leaps right into action with fully dimensional characters that I felt an immediate connection to. He has created a believable future and believable otherworld of the fae. Love is the primary message. Love and care for others, love and care for the world around you. It is a tale of love that spans across time, of jealousy and obsession. Of a man's love for his kin and grove. This is a book that you feel, it is like music that causes the hairs to raise on your arms. I can't praise this book enough. I definitely recommend it!
